Volunteer Opportunity

International Day is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures within our school community. It offers an opportunity for students and families to come together for student performances, cultural foods, and a parade. This event reflects our shared values of respect the Ummah fostering a sense of belonging and the beauty of diversity.

This year, the student's will be grouped by country and have the opportunity to decorate their countries tables (day prior), perform Quran and other student showcases, bring food (about a half tray amount) that represents their country (to be eaten at the end of the event), and walk alongside others representing their country in a patriotic parade to their country's anthem. 

The event is on 11/15 from 9:15 - 12pm, volunteer opportunities include set up (2 days prior, day prior, and day of) as well as tear down needs, as well as table decorations for your student' country. 

Sign up to decorate your countries table: The signup has all the countries that were submitted for representation (parade, food table, etc).  If you see your country is missing from the list, please email pto.sw@imanacademy.org as soon as possible.  The closer we get to the event, the less likely the school can make accommodations.

Sign up to help pre or post event: International Day is the largest event of the year, and one of the events we need the most support from volunteers to make this day special. We need help with setting up for the event (2 days prior, day prior), helping with final touches (morning of - prior to event), and tear down (day of - post event).

Each Grade/Class is asked to donate items and bring by the Wednesday prior to International Day: 

• FAITH

• Pre School: Disposable Paper Containers / To Go Boxes

• Pre-K: Cola Soda (12 pack H.E.B. Brand)

• Kindergarten (KG): 2 cases of water bottles (8 oz) / 80 pack small water bottles

• Elementary

• 1st Grade: Cola Soda (12 pack H.E.B. Brand)

• 2nd Grade: 2 cases of water bottles (8 oz) / 80 pack small water bottles

• 3rd Grade: Pack of juice boxes 

• 4th grade: Disposable Paper Containers / To Go Boxes

• 5th grade: To Go Boxes or 80 pack small water bottles or Cola Soda (12 pack H.E.B. Brand) or pack of juice boxes

• MS/HS: unknown by PTO (if you know, please text 832-859-9943 and we'll add it here)
