This is an entirely new initiative. Nothing has been formally approved or funded yet—we are starting from scratch, but also with the most flexibility. To move this vision forward, we need a committed working group of parents to draft a comprehensive, formal proposal for school administration and board approval.

How the Library Will Serve Our School

• For Students: A welcoming way for independent reading, book borrowing, and literacy-building across a variety of genres. As the library initiative grows we can support Reading Challenges!

• For Teachers: Direct access to diverse, age-appropriate books—ranging from early readers and middle-grade fiction to STEM, biography, and Islamic history—strengthens comprehension, vocabulary, and standardized testing readiness. 

What It Will Take to Launch and Sustain Building and maintaining the library requires a structured, multi-phase effort:

• Planning & Proposal (Phase 1): Define a mobile cart ("Library on Wheels") and/or dedicated room requirements, cataloging system software, staffing (volunteers) models, and estimated startup budgets.

• Collection & Cataloging: Source vetted books, set up check-out policies, and organize the library using a simple digital catalog.

• Ongoing Operations: Form a parent volunteer rotation to manage desk check-outs, re-shelf materials, coordinate book drives, and run annual fundraisers to refresh inventory.
